Discussing marijuana

what is your oppinion on legalizing marijuana? The older I get, the more liberal my view becomes of it. I don't know, but maybe they oughta have zoning areas within a city where pot is legal. They could build Internet coffee/pot shops. I just don't think that the world is ready just yet for legal marijuana. I used to smoke pot, back in the 70's mostly, and then on and off scince then; so I don't quite know how I feel about pot. I don't think it's a good idea for youth to smoke it because they are very vunerable and impressionable at that stage of life. It was true for me. As a youth pot led me into all kinds of trouble: skipping classes, stealing, etc. When I smoked pot as an adult, it was a completely different thing. I suppose I got into all my trouble when I was young. The obvious thing about pot is that it is still widely illegal. Do I think that pot was a gateway drug for me? Yes. Do I think that pot took away alot of my natural inhibitions? Yes. Do I think it made me dumb? Another yes. Is smoking pot stupid? Yes. Oh, by the way, the pot cafe was just a joke, just for the record. I don't intend to advocate the use of pot in any sense. Do I believe that it displeases the Lord, a big yes!

a god, or God

in [the] beginning the Word was, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god. 2 This one was in [the] beginning with God. 3 All things came into existence through him, and apart from him not even one thing came into existence. Compare this translation with the Christian scriptures, John 1:1-3. Do you recognize the former verse? It is from the paraphrased bible called the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures, in other words, the Jehovah's Witnesses bible.

It is paraphrased to show, among other things, that Jesus is not co-eternal with the Father, in other words, that Jesus is not God the Son, the second person of the Trinity. In the New World Translation at Colossians 1:16; "because by means of him all [other] things were created in the heavens and upon the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, no matter whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All [other] things have been created through him and for him." the Watchtower inserts the word "other" to show that Jesus was not always with God, but that he was created in the "beginning.

"I find this one problem with John 1:1-3 the way that the Watchtower renders it; The NWT, for instance, say's that "apart from him (Jesus) not even one thing came into existance." therefore God could not have been alone in the heavens before Jesus supposedly came into existance because "apart from him not even one thing came into existance. God created everything through Jesus in the beginning of all things. The scriptures never teach that Jesus is a created being. Jesus is simply co-eternal, co-creater with God, the Father.

Is it a Biased Oppinion...

If I have only blogs from the "right" on my page, does that make me biased? I get frustrated at Fox News Channel every time they boast about, "fair and balanced." Is there something wrong with a network that doesn't include both views? I don't like Hannity for that very reason, because of Colmes, he's such a squishy liberal!. I wince every time it is time for Alan Colmes to speak. I would simply prefer just Hannity, or just Colmes for that matter. I am sickened, and I am discouraged by the far left Cindy Sheehan, Code Pink Liberal mentality right now.

Oh! Have you heard of "DDD" yet. I heard this woman speaking on the Micheal Medved show last night about it. Aparantly "DDD" stands for Duel Dwelling Duo's. It's when a couple finds that they are no longer compatible with each other in terms of being able to live with one another, they split up in to two homes and continue in their relationship apart from on another.

E Pluribus Unum

Today's verse in my side bar is something that you have to practice every day, though this is where you are, positionally, right now! The Law of the Spirit of life; but wait a minute! Paul said that there was no Law in the Holy Spirit. The Spirit set me free from Law, in other words, there isn't one thing that I could do to my credit apart from the Holy Spirit that would set me free from the Law of sin and death! That is why we cannot earn our salvation by works, because works are the power of sin and death. It's all done in and through the Holy Spirit "Therefore there is now no condemnation" for those who are in the Spirit. Do you have the Spirit of Christ in you? I always found it a fearful and profound thing to walk in the Spirit (the few times that I really and truly have) because it is walking in a realm that is foreign and unknown to us. We feel more comfortable just getting on with our day in our own way. It's hard. And there is no reason for us to be afraid. Maybe I will have some more thoughts on that later.
